2011 - 2012 Goals

  1. Communications

    1. continue to publish a weekly newsletter

    2. appoint a webmaster to develop and maintain a state of the art website which can easily be updated

    3. maintain a regular presence of Facebook

    4. create and post 6 short (2-4 minute) vides on YouTube related to club activities both in the community and internationally

    5. establish a visible presence in the Chelan Valley and within Rotary District 5060 through regular public relations bulletins using radio, newspapers, social media and local events

    6. review the Chelan Rotary bylaws and present modifications and/or additions as necessary

  2. Community

    1. gain approval for and complete the "Chelan South Public Park" - together with the City of Chelan, Chelan County Public Utility District, Latino, and Anglo community

  3. Fellowship

    1. arrange at least one club social event each month with 3 of the events designed as a fund raiser

  4. Membership

    1. add six (6) new members and limit attrition to 10% of the membership as of July 1, 2011 insuring that membership does not fall below sixty (60) members

  5. New Winter-Spring Fundraising Project

    1. identify three new fundraisers with the goal of raising an additional $50,000 before June 30, 2012

  6. Rotary Foundation

    1. rededicate and inspire the club to meet the "Every Rotarian Every Year" objective

    2. continue the "I want to be a Paul Harris Fellow" promotion

    3. contribute to the Annual Programs fund an amount equal to the number of members as of January 1, 2012 x $100

    4. Contribute $2,000 to Polio Plus prior to March 1, 2012

  7. International Service Committee

    1. plan, develop and initiate at least two (2) new international service projects unique to Chelan Rotary

    2. identify and establish a relationship with an International Rotary club that would like to become a sister club to Chelan Rotary club

    3. support Chelan to Guatemala for two (2) more years (2012-2013) to help with the education of local people in the fight against Spina Bifida using a Rotary Matching Grant

    4. rededicate Chelan Rotary to Shelterbox and contribute $2000 for the purchase of 2 Shelterboxes prior to March 1, 2012

  8. New Generations

    1. give added club assistance to the Youth Exchange Committee to develop and recruit Chelan and Manson youth to guarantee an outward and inward bound Exchange Student in 2013.

    2. increase the number of dollars available for 1st year college scholarships by 25% by May 1, 2012

    3. create and Organize an Interact Club at Chelan High School— to encourage our youth in the new Fifth Avenue of Service — New Generations — to follow the service principals of Rotary

  9. Club Service

    1. create and Organize a Brewster-Pateros-Bridgeport Morning Rotary Clubin a partnership with Okanogan-Omak Rotary Club

    2. create an early morning Chelan Rotary Satellite club that will meet weekly at The Vogue Coffee. This will provide members with noon time commitments with an alternate opportunity to attend a Rotary Meeting.

  10. Community

    1. identify and implement five (5) new small projects that will contribute to the lives of people living in the Chelan Valley

    2. work with Chelan Valley Hope and other appropriate church and local organizations to identify projects

These goals are set out in order to have measurable goals and objectives for the Rotary year 2011-2012. For the most part they are supplementary to the projects that we already do so well, such as the Salmon Barbecue, Rotary Scholarships, Rotary Community Grants, Senior Barbecue, Highway Clean-up, Public Relations, Club Fellowship social events, and excellent meetings and programs.
